Each of my capes is handmade with wool fibers from the alpacas my husband and I raise on our small farm in Brockport, NY. We shear the alpacas ourselves with help from friends. I only send the fiber off the farm to have it washed and then returned to me. I create the fabric for the capes in our barn by needle-felting the fibers together with a thin layer of silk in between the alpaca layers. This makes a luxurious fabric used to cut and sew my capes and other apparel from. My favorite part is needle-felting individual embellishments onto each garment by hand to give that item my one-of-a kind touch.
